The main purpose of lighting is to create good visibility and a comfortable and pleasant environment. Interior lighting design involves the professional design of illuminance, color temperature, color rendering index, and other aspects for various architectural environments. It not only needs to meet the indoor "brightness" requirements but also plays a role in creating the environment and atmosphere. It is generally required by interior architects and calculated and adjusted by electrical engineers. It also refers to the action of light illuminating or the state of being illuminated. In filmmaking, it is an art of using natural or artificial light. It involves the use of lighting equipment, lighting design, scene layout, light positioning, light ratio, determination of tone and light effect, lens lighting treatment, etc., and is an indispensable means for cinematographers (see cinematic visual art, cinematic lighting). Lighting design should be human-centered, but must first consider safety and practicality, as well as lighting requirements, installation methods, maintenance methods.
